Laibach were the first certified organic block in Stellenbosch & this wine has become a benchmark for organic wine production in South Africa. Named in tribute to the 3,000 Ladybirds that are released each January to combat the presence of the mealybug & protect the vines. These little creatures are a remarkable deterrent & avoid the need for the use of pesticides to eradicate pests. This wine is a Merlot dominated Bordeaux blend, & has a complex nose with hints of spice, chocolate & mocha. Good structure with plum & mineral complexity & a lingering finish.
